Ayia Napa Marina hosted the Cape Greco Regatta 2024 with great success
The day kicked off at 09:00 with briefings and registrations at Ayia Napa Marina, the perfect launchpad for the regatta that set sail at 11:00 a.m. From there, the boats started their exciting route to the beach of Yianna Marie and from there to Konnos for the finish. With favourable weather conditions, ideal wind, and clear seas, the race went smoothly, offering a truly dynamic experience for the competitors.
The awards ceremony took place at 19:00 at the Purity Lounge Bar on the 3rd floor of the East Tower. In CLASS A, the boat Typhoon finished first, Almyra second, and Spirit of Kikis third. In CLASS B, First Light was first, Nisida second and Vandome third, while in CLASS C, the boat Time Out finished first, with Agios Fokas and Legendary in the 2nd and 3rd place respectively. In the overall ranking, Typhoon took the top spot, with First Light coming in second and Almyra third.
After the ceremony, competitors and sailing fans relaxed, enjoying unique cocktails and the enchanting sunset. Mr Costas Fitiris, Chief Marina Officer of Ayia Napa Marina, stated: “We are delighted to have hosted the Regatta at Ayia Napa Marina. The Marina and sailing are a perfect match, and we will be happy to host the next Regatta in Spring 2025.” He also highlighted the expectations for the creation of a Boating-Yachting Club at Ayia Napa Marina. With the warm atmosphere of the award ceremony and the following celebrations, the event concluded on a high note, with organizers and competitors in a joyful mood, eagerly anticipating the next sailing challenges and opportunities.
