Mr. Vanezis, 2025 comes to an end leaving behind an impressive list of events and initiatives. How would you evaluate the past year from a marketing perspective, and what do you consider to be Ayia Napa Marina’s greatest achievement during this period?
The year 2025 was a milestone for us, a year of maturity and further consolidation. From a marketing perspective, we moved from tactical promotion to the development of a strong and meaningful identity. We did not merely communicate events; we created experiences with a clear and lasting impact, designed for diverse audiences. At the same time, I believe our greatest achievement was establishing Ayia Napa Marina as a multidimensional destination that operates twelve months a year and appeals to both international and local audiences.
The Marina has proven its ability to flawlessly host international-scale events. What is the secret behind the operational excellence that allows Ayia Napa Marina to deliver such complex events?
Synergy is the “magic” ingredient of Ayia Napa Marina. We have an exceptionally cohesive team, clearly defined processes, and strong collaborations with both institutional and private partners. At the same time, we place great emphasis on attention to detail and structured planning. Each event is treated as a distinct project, with specific objectives, clear timelines, and measurable outcomes.
In 2025, we saw the establishment of the 1st Street Food Festival (Chef’s Kiss) and the successful CraftXBeerience. How important are gastronomy and lifestyle in your communication strategy for attracting visitors?
Both are undoubtedly key pillars of our strategy. Events such as gastronomic festivals and beer festivals are not merely events; they are experience-driven tools. Through them, Marina becomes a meeting point for social interaction and cultural exchange, significantly strengthening the emotional connection between visitors and the destination.
Ayia Napa Marina has aligned itself with important social causes through long-standing collaborations such as the Karaiskakio Foundation, “Unique Smiles,” and the Cyprus Autism Association (Run for Autism). How does the Marina’s brand connect with social contribution, and what is your vision for the 2026 CSR plan?
For us, social contribution is not a communication choice, is an integral part of our corporate identity. These collaborations clearly reflect the values of Ayia Napa Marina. For 2026, our goal is to implement a more structured and targeted corporate social responsibility plan, with long-term social impact and even greater involvement of the local community.
With a wide range of sporting events such as the Aquathlon, Run Under the Moon, and Oceanman, Ayia Napa Marina also plays a leading role in sports tourism. How do these events contribute to positioning the free Famagusta district as a global destination?
From its early years of operation, Ayia Napa Marina fully recognized that sporting events are a powerful tool for international promotion. Such events attract high-quality visitors, contribute to extending the tourist season, and in turn position the free Famagusta district as a modern, safe, and dynamic destination. At the same time, they generate significant benefits for the local economy, attracting visitors from across Cyprus as well as from abroad.
Events such as the Mommy Cool Event, the Kids Festival, and the now well-established Carnival event indicate a shift toward family-oriented audiences. How do you balance the Marina’s luxury profile with being an open and welcoming destination for the local community?
For us, luxury does not mean exclusivity. It means quality, safety, and authentic hospitality. Events such as the Mommy Cool Event and the Marina Carnival demonstrate that we can be both premium and accessible. We want society, at every level, to feel that Marina is a destination where they can create beautiful moments.
Ayia Napa Marina is now also establishing itself as a Christmas destination. How challenging is it to market a destination traditionally associated with summer so that it remains attractive and “alive” throughout the year?
Extending the season is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges, but at the same time a great opportunity. Transforming a summer destination into a winter point of reference requires imagination, consistency, and effective storytelling. Christmas at Ayia Napa Marina proved that there is an audience seeking authentic and high-quality experiences all year round.
Looking ahead to 2026, what are the key pillars of your strategy? We assume that some of the successful events of 2025 will return — is that correct?
The strategy for 2026 is built on three key pillars: consistency, evolution, and social contribution. Several of the successful events of 2025 will return, enriched and upgraded, while at the same time we will invest more in targeted marketing and in the creation of meaningful experiences for our audience.
Are there any new projects or international collaborations you can reveal that will further strengthen the Marina’s image?
At Ayia Napa Marina, it is part of our identity to always have new projects and potential collaborations in development, all aimed at further strengthening the Marina’s position in the wider market and across all areas of activity. At this stage, without revealing details, I can say that these initiatives are focused on yachting, lifestyle, and premium experiences.
Finally, after such a full and dynamic 2025, what is your personal goal as Marketing Manager for the new year? How do you envision Ayia Napa Marina at the end of 2026?
To continue innovating without losing our authenticity, and by the end of 2026, through our initiatives, to establish Ayia Napa Marina as a benchmark destination for the Eastern Mediterranean; a destination that combines quality, sustainability, experience, and a meaningful connection with people.
